Project Overview
The War Veterans Empowerment Fund is a government-backed initiative designed to improve economic livelihoods, welfare outcomes, and social inclusion for veterans of the liberation struggle and qualifying beneficiary categories across Zimbabwe.
Objectives
- Provide targeted economic empowerment grants and support to qualifying veterans.
- Facilitate access to agricultural, trade, and small business opportunities.
- Support housing, medical assistance, and livelihood improvement programmes.
- Ensure transparent and accountable management of fund allocations.
- Extend programme reach to veterans in underserved provincial and rural areas.
Impact & Outcomes
Over 2,000 veterans and beneficiaries supported through direct empowerment allocations. Agricultural input support distributed across 6 provinces. Medical assistance cases processed for qualifying categories. Ongoing monitoring and evaluation to improve fund effectiveness and reach.
