Project Overview
A planned national heritage development project to expand and improve Zimbabwe's National Heroes Shrine infrastructure, memorialisation facilities, and visitor experience to honour the legacy of the liberation struggle and national heroes.
Objectives
- Develop and expand shrine infrastructure to accommodate national memorial events.
- Improve visitor experience, interpretation, and heritage education facilities.
- Establish a permanent digital archive and documentation centre at the shrine.
- Enhance security, landscaping, and maintenance capacity at the site.
- Support national identity and remembrance through improved facilities.
Impact & Outcomes
Project in planning phase. Impact projections include improved national heritage tourism, enhanced capacity for national memorial events, and a permanent digital liberation heritage archive accessible to the public.
